Icon Tutorial 5

From this

To this

Only fucking 6 steps. And it only take less than 3 minutes if you are fast enough. :3 Simple way but great outcome!

But before you proceed to the tutorial, you will need to download "icon adjustment layer setting by bnis" to use the files I will mention in the tutorial. Such as .ahu, .alv and . asv.

Step 1
Resize/crop.

Step 2
Duplicate base. Set to Soft Light. (This may need to be adjusted in the end, depending on the image.)

Step 3
LAYER > NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER > HUE/SATURATION... Click OK. LOAD icon-c.ahu. Click OK.

Step 4
LAYER > NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER > LEVELS... Click OK. LOAD icon-c.alv. Click OK.

Step 5
New layer, fill with #010721 (003exclusion100.jpg) -- Set to Exclusion at 100%.

Step 6
LAYER > NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER > SELECTIVE COLOR... Click OK. LOAD icon-c.asv. Click OK.

That's it, you're done! You may need to go back to the base (and its' duplicates) and alter it a bit - sometimes Screen works better than Soft Light, etc. It all depends on the image being used.
