How to create custom emoticons?

For a moving emoticon there are a number of ways to create one. I'll try to explain it in a way you can follow.

First you need the different frames that will be in your moving emoticon. Create each frame in a program such as Photoshop, GIMP or you could use Paint.

Once you have all the different frames that you want to be in your emoticon, you need to put them together using an animation program. There are a range of animation programs avalible. For those who suck in Photoshop...Ulead GIF Animator is a good one.

I create my custom emotions..so how to apply in msn like urs?

First open MSN Messenger to its main window. The main window is where you can see all of your contacts. Click tools then click My Emoticons. You should see a window similar to the one below.

Click the create button. You should see a box similar to the one below.

Click find image. You’ll see a window similar to the one below

I navigated to where my icon was saved and selected that file in the image above. Once you do that, click open. After that you’ll see a box similar to the one below.

Now you’ll need to type your keyboard shortcut. Your keyboard shortcut is what you type while you’re chatting to send that emoticon. I typed gnldm for mine. When you’re finished with that, click OK. Now you should see a box similar to the one below.

Notice how your new emoticon is highlighted. Press OK to close that window.

Now open a new chat window and type gnldm or whatever you selected as your keyboard short cut and send that message. If you did it right your emoticon you just created was just sent.

Things to remember:

If your image is not 19 x 19 pixels it might turn out distorted when being sent.

That new emoticon you just created is stored on the computer where you created it on only. If you logon to another computer where that emoticon has not been installed, it won’t show be there when you try to use it. However i have a way to save ur all emotions transfer to another computer..backup using cmd. Yawning..Lazy to post.

gif format - 50 x 50 / 100 x 100 pixels
